Admixtures
Calcium Chloride
- Cuts set time by 67%, from about six hours to two hours
- Best for cold weather
- Not recommended with rebar reinforced concrete to avoid corrosion of steel reinforcement
Hot Water
- Required for pouring concrete during cold weather
- Hot water promotes early chemical processes of concrete hydration, setting, and strength formation in cold temperature concrete pour environments
